Our vegan shoes have recycled soles, have a metropolitan style and most of all comfortable eco shoes that can be dressed up and/or worn casually! Here are our materials: Organic Hemp Canvas: Hemp is a strong material and it breathes extremely well. It grows quickly and produces 250% more fibre than cotton and does not need harmful pesticides or herbicides. We go out of our way at Earthy Soles to make sure that it is also organic and not grown with even minimal use of pesticides and herbicides. It is also naturally resistant to mold and ultraviolet light and great for outdoor use! Organic Cotton: Our shoes are lined our shoes and inserted our in-soles with durable Organic Cotton for eco friendly material with comfort. Cotton is a very smooth material and one of the oldest fibers under human cultivation. It is one of the most used natural fibers in existence today. Recycled Rubber: The outsoles of our eco shoes are made from rubber products that are from recycled sources and are easily recyclable. They are very light weight and flexible. Here are some important points we found fascinating as to why “recycled rubber” was used for the outsoles: Producing rubber from reclaim requires less energy in the total production process than does virgin material It is a excellent way to dispose of unwanted rubber products, which is often difficult It conserves non-renewable petroleum products, which are used to produce synthetic rubbers. Recycling activities can generate work in developing countries PU: PU is a vegan material that is recyclable but not recycled. It is short for Polyurethane and is a foamy rubberlike plastic. This is the best material we have found so far to create the stylish look that Earthy Soles shoes possess whilst avoiding the use of leather and a material that was recyclable. Coconut Shell Buttons: ONLY coconut buttons are used for our shoes and not plastic and wood. Coconut shell buttons are made from unwanted coconut shells after the use of the coconut meat.
