THERE IS AN ANCIENT CHINESE PROVERB THAT SAYS - "An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance," the saying goes. "The thread may stretch or tangle, but never break."

When founder Julie Jonas and her husband Danny Roberge decided to adopt their daughter from China in June 2005, their only intention was to create a family.

Until now our focus had been to create the best, Certified Organic Vegan Sweets on the planet, with 12 years already invested in our family owned Certified Organic Vegan baked goods company, (Skinnimini Edibles inc.)

Then life changed… and this is OUR STORY.

The beginning of our incredible journey

Our story begins in the summer of June 2004, when a baby girl was born on the other side of the world. One year later, we traveled to North-West China to adopt our daughter, Zia... the thread to the beginning of an incredible journey and our link to making a difference in the world.

Our inspiration

Now new parents, our focus shifted to raising our daughter with a conscience & appreciation for her planet in the greenest environment possible. We wanted to make sure our girls would grow up with hope and possibilities. Our lives have always been about making a difference, doing the right thing and living pure and honestly.

Living a green and organic lifestyle and making responsible purchasing choices was definitely not something new for us. We ate organic food, supported local organic farmers, slept on organic beds, used organic chemical free skincare products, reused almost everything, composted, recycled and for the past 12 years we have earned our living creating the best Certified Organic Vegan Sweets on the planet, (Skinnimini Edibles inc.) We can say that we do walk the walk.

But daily, we were consumed with other lingering thoughts, reminded of our daughter’s journey; How many? Where do they come from? Why? It was during these moments where we realized that our love and concern could be turned into making a difference and change children’s lives. This became our mission and the inspiration came from Zia… Zia & Tia Pure Luxury Organics was born.

Our story is about our ideas and dreams... offering pure luxury organic eco-friendly and fair trade products and ... an organization that we could support to help China's orphaned children have the possibility of a better future. We found both. We chose products for Zia & Tia that were only Organic, Fairtrade, chemical free or Non-toxic, with a preference to associate ourselves with companies that had honesty & integrity and that were also committed to creating a more sustainable world and contributing to something meaningful.

Then we took our ideas and dreams and created our own Zia & Tia Vintage inspired Collection of Organic heirloom Baby Handknit clothing & Baby blankets and our Organic-Chic Baby blankets & Noonoo's.

Zia & Tia Pure Luxury Organics is a family owned and operated business. Full time mom, Julie is the founder, dad Danny is the technical support, advisor and partner ... and Zia, of course, is literally, our driving force. Tia (Tiana) is the invisible thread who we patiently wait for to complete our family. Together, through Zia & Tia Pure Luxury Organics, our girls have become the invisible red thread that keep us all connected to the millions of Zia’s & Tia’s left behind.
